Personal statement
I’m Noran, a developmental psychology specialist working with children, teens, and their families. I completed my Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, and I trained in school, clinical, and community settings in both Saudi Arabia and the United States. My work focuses on supporting young people (ages 4–18) through anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral challenges, trauma, and school-related concerns. In sessions, I try to make the space feel safe, honest, and comfortable. Kids and teens open up when they don’t feel judged, so my approach is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and a lot of respect for their individuality. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills (DBT skills), play-based interventions, and trauma-informed practices, always adapting the process to what fits each client—not the other way around. I also work closely with parents, because real change usually happens when home and therapy are aligned. I take the time to understand family dynamics, support parents with practical strategies, and build plans that actually work day-to-day. My goal is for children and teens to understand themselves better, build tools they can use in their daily lives, and feel more in control. And I want parents to feel supported throughout the process. I look forward to working with you and your family.
