Personal statement
I am Dr. Rahaf Al-Asiri, Consultant Psychiatrist. I studied medicine at King Abdulaziz University and completed my residency and fellowship programs at the University of Toronto in Canada, where I specialized in women’s mental health and child and adolescent psychiatry.
I work with children, adolescents, and their families to provide comprehensive psychiatric care that takes into account the family and social context and is grounded in the latest scientific evidence.
In my therapeutic practice, I use a combination of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic theories, with a special interest in treating psychological trauma across childhood and adulthood.
I believe that effective psychiatry is built on a careful understanding of the human experience before judging it, and that the goal is to help individuals restore their psychological balance and their ability to navigate daily life with clarity and stability.
