Personal statement

I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the American University in Cairo in 2003 and my Master of Arts in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in Virginia,USA in 2017. I welcome individuals, couples, and families into my practice.

Operating from a family systems perspective, I believe deeply in the indispensable value of healthy, supportive relationships for optimal individual, couple, and family functioning. I am passionate about working with people who make the brave choice of bettering themselves and their relationships. I strive to equip individuals and families to help themselves by fostering self-awareness, encouraging openness in communication, restoring trust in self and others, and setting healthy boundaries.

My therapeutic approach integrates a range of evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. I believe my role as a therapist is to meet each individual where they are and support them in moving toward where they want to be. I collaborate with each client to customize their therapeutic journey according to their needs and struggles.

I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and relationship trauma. With couples, I address a variety of challenges including communication issues, emotional distance, intimacy struggles, affairs and infidelity, separation, and major life transitions.
